Arthritis is a condition that affects the joints of the body, causing the destruction or loss of the lining (articular) cartilage. This is usually due to wear and tear, a normal part of aging.

Osteoarthritis is the most common type of arthritis. It is a degenerative condition associated with aging. In addition to osteoarthritis, there are other forms of arthritis known as inflammatory arthritis, which includes conditions like rheumatoid arthritis.
